Paulo Macedo is a health economist and statistician with over 30 years of experience in statistical analysis and econometric modeling of microeconomic and healthcare industry data. Dr. Macedo is an expert in a wide array of statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and statistical software packages. Dr. Macedo has conducted statistical analyses to assist the efforts of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to identify fraud and abuse and to monitor compliance. He has extensive knowledge of Medicare claims data and prescription drug data by both institutional and individual providers. He has also implemented a large number of statistical sampling plans for medical review and subsequent extrapolations. Dr. Macedo is the author of various papers on statistical methods for the analysis of health care data and co-presented with Sewit Araia, a paper on fraud analytics at the 2016 National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association Conference. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University.
